What's in a name?

"I have a natural interest in the welfare of my fellow men, and a desire to help and serve others in a humanitarian way. I am responsible and generous, although somewhat scattering and disorganized at times. In my work, I would seek a position offering self-expression through contact with people, such as sales or teaching, or a position giving scope to my creative, artistic talents. I am good-natured and likeable, and people tend to confide in me and seek my advice in personal problems. Others sense my sincere interest and desire to help, and I can always be counted on to see the bright side of any problem. I enjoy making others happy and I never let my own problems "get me down" for any length of time, even though I do tend to worry too much at times. In close personal relationships I am usually thoughtful and considerate. However, my natural interest in others, coupled with my sympathetic reaction to problems, could draw me into emotional situations which may be difficult to get out of."

That's not me blowing my trumpet, and neither is it something those guys with totas in cages told me about myself. This is an analysis of the name Lyndon from the Net that has analysed 50,000 first names ! Right from Lyndon to Nagashyamala, and from A'ishah to Zzelle! Believe it or not, 95% of what the analysis said about my name is true - of course with over 50,000 names to index and analyse, I couldn't really expect them to include everything about me - for instance that I'm a bhola bhala, seedha saadha shareif insaan ... etc etc ...

The Kabalarian Philosophy Web Site (http://www.kabalarians.com/ ) is hosted by the Society of Kabalarians of Canada - a non - profit organisation who provide brief analysis of 50,000 names for free. For a fee however, they provide a detailed analysis of names and a whole lot of other information. Why this much interest in names? Simply because according to them, a name affects your personality, health, personal relations, and personal and business success. Your name determines how you think, how you express your desires today and for the future, and your degree of success.

Just to verify the veracity of the analysis, I looked up the names of some of people closest to me and of public figures too, and well - I was impressed !

People who share my mum's name are supposed to have a very kind and gentle nature, while being reserved. Besides, the analysis predicts a swelling of the legs and ankles. Right on all counts as far as my Mum goes ! The site also rightly predicted my Dad's idealistic nature, and that he had been through many losses in life.

Going through close friends names - under stress, Mugdha could inadvertently do something she would regret later. But she places great importance on whatever she happens to be interested in.Savita, on the other hand has a very friendly, likeable, artistic, and musical nature. While Manisha desires all the finer things in life--lovely clothes, home, etc., procrastination is her worst enemy (she was supposed to go out for lunch with me over a month ago - wake up lady !)

Moving onto more public figures - a very real weakness of the name Narasimha is lack of system and order. The person would find it extremely difficult to carry through and finish the things they start. They would also find it easy to make promises in an effort to make others happy--although not so easy to keep them. Now think for yourself - does a particular Mr. Rao fit this analysis ?

Aishwarya Rai (yeah the same Miss World who patted my left shoulder on August 19th, 1994 at 18 minutes past midnight) had better watch out for a liking for sweets that could create skin disorders or liver problems, or could cause headaches.

After browsing through many names, you start realising that different names have qualities of other names put together - Ratan for instance, has qualities attributed to Sitaram and Bruno ! The nicest thing about this site is that you'll find names there that you wouldn't expect to find on a foreign site - and if by chance it's not there, you could add your name too !

Visit this site - if not for a heavy dose of philosophy, then at least for a few kicks and laughs about yourself, and your friends ! Yunjoy !!
